Sam Adams Brewery recently teamed up with Chef David Burke to concoct a new beer. The NYC based chef is famous for his love of beef, so Sam Adams chose to put sliced beef hearts into their beer.
On their website, Sam Adams states: "We do not use any animal products in making our beers."
That used to be true, only now the brewer uses the hearts of cows for this specialty brew. Ask Sam Adams to have a heart, and take the cow hearts out of their beer.

Please Take Cow Hearts Out Of Beer
Greetings,
I recently read on Change.org that Sam Adams brewery partnered with Chef David Burke to make a beer containing sliced beef hearts as an ingredient.
I am writing to urge you to stop the production of this beer.
The Sam Adams website states: "We do not use any animal products in making our beers." If the majority of your beers are free of animal products, why choose to make a beer containing cow hearts?
Those cow hearts likely came from cattle who spent the last month of their short lives at feedlots, pumped full of antibiotics and hormones, before they were sent to the slaughterhouse. At the slaughterhouse, cattle are stunned before they are hung upside down and bled to death. The stunning process often does not render them unconscious and they remain kicking as a knife is stuck in their throat.
As a company, Sam Adams stands for many positive things. The company has made a point to donate beer and money to many charities. There's no reason that an otherwise ethical company like Sam Adams should become mired in the ugliness of animal agriculture.
Thank you.
