Tell OSU: Don't Ban Gay, Non-Christian Students From Clubs

Tell OSU: Don't Ban Gay, Non-Christian Students From Clubs

The Issue

The Ohio State University is currently deciding whether or not to allow discrimination against gay and non-Christian students. You can help by telling them to do the right thing.

Currently, religious groups at OSU can deny membership, and/or leadership roles, to students who do not share their "sincerely held religious beliefs." These beliefs can extend to sexual orientation as well, shutting out potential student group members for the sole reason that they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

OSU's student government voted in early January to recommend changing the school's student-organization registration guidelines. Now, they're taking these recommendations to the university administration and asking for change.

All students should be able to join OSU student groups, especially if those groups are receiving funds from the $25-per-quarter activity fee that every student pays.

Tell OSU Student Life Vice President Javaune Adams-Gaston that you support overturning these discriminatory practices.
