Tell NBC to Halt Production/Airing of "The Playboy Club"

The Issue

The War on Illegal Pornography, with a coalition membership of over 100 organizations is calling for a halt to the airing of NBC's new TV series, "The Playboy Club," which glamorizes Hugh Hefner, and details his beginnings in starting the Playboy Club in the 1960's. It is a known fact that pornography leads to the objectification and sexualization of women, which leads to rape, is at the root of the human trafficking of girls, porn addictions, child molestations, has destroyed countless families, causes STDs and non-cureable diseases, and has even caused death.  The porn industry is not glamorous.  For further details see: www.pornharms.com, or www.shelleylubben.com. Please join us in supporting this effort to tell NBC Universal (and parent company Comcast) to halt the production of 'The Playboy Club.' Please have your contacts, friends, and family members sign the petition also.

The Utah NBC affiliate, KSL-TV has already made a public statement that they will not be airing the show because of its objectionable content. "The Playboy brand is known internationally. " KSL President and CEO Mark Willes said in a statement. "Everyone is clear what it stands for. We want to be sure everyone is clear what the KSL brand stands for, which is completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand."
