Recently, the MTA has changed the way monthly TAP cards are purchased, and how long they are good for. They made this change rather covertly, with only some small, simple posters at light rail/subway stops to warn of the change. What was the change made? There are no longer monthly TAP cards; they are now good for 30 days from the date first used. This will end up costing those who ride Metro every day more money every year.
