General Motors, Chevron, and the coal power giant American Electric Power have invested millions of dollars in the carbon offset market, creating huge preservation areas in the Brazilian rainforest. In the process, they've trampled the rights of the Guarani Indians, who have inhabited and protected the land for generations. Tell General Motors to stop the harassment of indigenous people in Brazil and allow for sustainable hunting and logging by the area's original inhaitants.

Respect the Rights of the Guarani Indians

Dear General Motors

Please respect the rights of the indigenous Guarani Indians, the original inhabitants of the Brazilian rainforest. Your company has invested millions of dollars in preserving this land, and investing in it for carbon offset credits. Now, state police are harassing and arresting indigenous people to protect your investments.

While I applaud your efforts at environmental preservation, the rights of indigenous people must be protected. Please set up specific provisions that respect the sustainable logging, fishing, and hunting rights of the Guarani Indians.
