Mountaintop mining should be banned for annihilating the land, water, wildlife and overall health of the Appalachian region. A recent study this year even found that the practice exposes people to serious health consequences such as birth defects.

Please stand with hundreds of protesters who stormed Washington last month and demand that EPA ban coal mining companies from stripping Appalachia of its beauty, ecological and cultural richness, health, and future economic potential.

As one protester put it, "You can't regulate destruction."

Ban Mountaintop Removal Mining

Greetings,

You, more than anyone, know about the destructive impacts of mountaintop removal mining.

As one Appalachian activist put it, "You can't regulate destruction."

Despite the coal industry's inflated dire predictions, please seriously consider a full ban of the most destructive form of coal mining in existence. You have my full support of such a proposal.
