Tell Alaskan Leaders to Protect Wild Salmon from Mining & Genetic Modification

Tell Alaskan Leaders to Protect Wild Salmon from Mining & Genetic Modification
The Issue
We are a network of Alaskan youth ages 13-18 from across the state that are fighting to protect our wild salmon, cultural heritage, and communities.
As young people, we recognize the importance of preserving and protecting wild Alaskan salmon and ask our leaders to maintain this abundant, renewable, and economic resource for us and for generations to come. Living off of salmon is our way of life, and we want future generations to have the same great experience as us and our ancestors.
Please support our efforts and sign the Wild Alaska Salmon Pledge!
We will be delivering these pledge signatures to our State Legislature in Juneau on March 18, and to our U.S. Senators Murkowski and Begich, and Rep. Young on March 28, 2011.
By signing this pledge I support...
1. Protecting Bristol Bay fisheries from large-scale mining
2. Protecting Alaska from mining through major salmon streams
3. Protecting national markets for Alaskan salmon by federal labeling of genetically-modified fish
