In a landmark lawsuit, Minnesota is taking on 3M--the maker of Post-it notes, Scotch tape and other popular products--for polluting local waterways with PFCs, dangerous toxins connected to cancer and other afflictions.

Not surprisingly, the corporation has backpedaled on the pollution, claiming--contrary to scientific evidence--that the chemicals are "not hazardous." Yet locals have pegged the toxins as the source of  community health issues, and when the Minnesotan city of Lake Elmo recently finished drilling a new well in town, they discovered PFC levels in the water exceeded state standards.

Support Minnesota's landmark lawsuit by telling 3M the company to pay up for its polluting ways.

Pay the Cost of PFC Damage

Greetings,

I support Minnesota's recent decision to file a lawsuit asking 3M to pay up for the PFCs they spent decades leaking into local waterways.

Residents have come forward claiming the toxins, which have been linked in scientific studies to cancer and other afflictions, have caused health issues in their communities. And while 3M claims the PFC levels are below the limit, when the city of Lake Elmo recently finished drilling a new well in town, they discovered PFC levels in the water exceeded state standards.

State attorney general Lori Swanson has stated, "The company caused damage to the environment. We are simply asking, let's make it right." To make it right, it is imperative that 3M settle this lawsuit with Minnesota, and pay out the tens of millions the state seeks for the damage done.
