Retailers like Target and Walmart have announced plans to extend "Black Friday" hour to Thursday evening--in the middle of Thanksgiving. This is completely unnecessary. Shoppers can wait an extra three hours until midnight, (or, God forbid, the next morning) so that employees of these stores can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with their families. All who sign this petition pledge to only do our holiday shopping at stores who respect the holiday family time of their employees. We refuse to do ANY holiday shopping at a retailer who runs a "Black Friday" sale on Thanksgiving evening.
