The Roman Catholic Church has been rocked by sexual child-rape scandals and cover-ups in countries around the world for the past several years, yet the Holy See has so far offered little but denials and excuses in response for the criminal behavior of its religious leaders.

Despite this despicable behavior, the US House of Representatives continues to keep on taxpayer payrolls the current Catholic House Chaplain, Rev. Daniel P. Coughlin, who oversees an annual budget of $132,000 for office and staff.

What message does this convey to our nation?  Does the US House of Representatives support the criminal actions and coverup of the Roman Catholic Church?

In any other office or business, representatives of any organization tainted with scandal would be put on immediate administrative leave until culpability was determined.  The same should happen with the current Catholic House Chaplain until the RCC can exonerate or atone for the charges leveled against it.

Call on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and your Congressional Representative to call for the suspension of Rev. Daniel P. Coughlin from all House Chaplaincy duties until the RCC cleans up its act.
