The long-term survival of great apes is in serious jeopardy. The Great Ape Conservation Fund, created in 2000, has helped protect highly endangered species like the Cross River Gorilla and the Cao-Vit gibbon, the rarest primate in the world.

Funding is running low, but the threats to great apes from climate change, habitat loss, poaching, and the bushmeat trade are still high. We need ongoing conservation strategies to ensure the survival of our primate cousins. Without protection, many of these species may be extinct within our lifetime.

Urge your representative to support the Great Ape Conservation Reauthorization Amendments Act of 2010 (H.R. 4416) ... before it's too late.
