SUPPORT THE EURKEA SPRINGS LIBRARY by asking the AR State Legislature to table or postpone any proposal or Bill relating to Act 74 until the pending lawsuit is resolved.

FUNDS LEGALLY MANDATED ARE NOT BEING ALLOCATED TO THE EUREKA SPRINGS LIBRARY. 

On January 24, 2011 the Eureka Springs Carnegie Library Board and one taxpayer, David Zimmermann, filed suit against the Carroll County Quorum Court, the County Judge, the Carroll County Library Board, the Berryville Library and the Green Forest Library for NOT following the law (ACT 74) with regard to the distribution of funding to County libraries.  

On January 31, 2011, the Quorum Court voted to ask our AR State Legislators to propose a Bill during this current session to change funding portions of the law (ACT 74).

Subsequently, the Eureka Springs City Council voted unanimously to ask our State Representatives to postpone any action on Act 74 until the lawsuit is resolved.

Signers of this Petition are asking State Representative Brian King and State Senator Randy Laverty to withdraw or postpone any Bill that may change Act 74, and are asking all members of the State Legislature to delay, table or oppose any Bill relating to Act 74 until the ES Library lawsuit is resolved.
