Support the Cuban Permaculture Team's bid to host IPC 11 (2013).

Support the Cuban Permaculture Team's bid to host IPC 11 (2013).
The Issue
It was understood at IPC 8 in Brazil in 2007 that Cuba would be awarded IPC 9. Maria Caridad Cruz of Cuba, Bood Hickson of Australia, and others have recounted on the IPC Support Listserve their recollections of how the Cuban team graciously and in the spirit of cooperation put its support behind the African team's bid to host IPC 9 and how the African representatives then suggested that Cuba would host IPC 10 at which the audience roared.
Here is an email from Bood Hickson..
Greetings One and All
Please record my vote for Cuba to host IPC11.
I was at Pirenopolis when Cuba most graciously gave way, allowing Africa to host IPC9. It was a joyous day for all who attended
It was implied then that Cuba would host IPC10. Like Africa it deserves the opportunity to share its remarkable leadership on food security and community mobilisation with the rest of the permaculture world.
Blessings from Oz for IPC10 in Jordan. I would love to be with you.
Keep the permaculture torch alight my brothers and sisters!
Bood Hickson
Additionally, Cuba has an incredible and unique history of using and integrating permaculture into its agricultural transformation from petrolem based to organic that has been recognized worldwide. As well, they are very organized and have successfully hosted many national, international and regional conferences on this topic. This is an opportunity for the world to learn from the Cuban experience of how to successfully build a grassroots, national, regional and global civil society permaculture movement. Thank you in advance for any consideration you give my request.
In Solidarity,
Maria Whittaker
