Drug addiction has become an epidemic that could be considered a disease all of its own. With some addictive drugs, such as heroin, it can take as little as one use to become completely dependent on them. The radical increase in drug use, both in the U.S. and all over the world, has created an industry of drug treatment and rehabilitation. Most treatment and rehabilitation centers offer a low success rate of 1-4%, cost thousands of dollars, usually end up replacing one addiction with another – such as methodone or suboxone – and take long chunks of time. Knowing this, it seems a fruitless endeavor to attempt to overcome a drug addiction. With such low success rates and steep costs, you might as well dump your money into a black hole and hope for a miracle.
