Support Homes for Heroes

Support Homes for Heroes
The Issue
While homelessness is always a tragedy, it's especially unsettling to see homelessness touch the lives of so many men and women who served our country.
- Between one-fourth to one-fifth of the homeless population are veterans. In the course of one year, more than 325,000 veterans experience at least one night of homelessness.
- 45 percent of homeless report indicators of mental health problems during the past year, and 57 percent report having had a mental health problem during their lifetime.
-Roughly 56% of homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic.
(more information can be found on our website, the Administration's National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans site, or Shannon Moriarty's recent blogpost on the issue.)
We can and must do more to support those people who have stood in the service of our country.
Pledge to support the Homes for Heroes Act, which would provide housing services for very low-income veterans. The legislation would improve access to supportive housing services, housing assistance vouchers, and other vital services that would keep veterans housed and prevent homelessness.
Please pledge your support today.
