We demand that the DNC NOT hold the Democratic convention in North Carolina.
North Carolina chose a hate filled and anti equal rights stance yesterday (5/8/12) by electing to ban not only gay marriage, but also to void other types of domestic unions from carrying legal status, which could disrupt protection orders for unmarried couples.
If the National Democratic Committee wishes to prove that it is supportive of equal rights for ALL American citizens, not just those that hateful bigots approve of, then it needs to pull its convention out of North Carolina and choose a state that is an example of the real American values of tolerance, equality, compassion and caring.
Any of the following would be a much better choice: California, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Maryland, Oregon and Washington, all of which recognize same sex marriages as an equal human right.
