The Countdown to 2015 Initiative has been proposed to track the coverage levels for health interventions proven to reduce maternal, newborn and child mortality. It calls on governments and development partners to be accountable, identifies knowledge gaps and proposes new actions to reach Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5, to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health. One of the advocacy activities of the Countdown to 2015 is to sensitize government representatives to the issues of maternal, newborn and child health and mobilize their engagement.  Urge your government to represent, legislate, oversee, budget and advocate for the Countdown to 2015 and lead the change for women and children's health.
