Scientists warn that the buildup of carbon pollution will create warmer temperatures which could lead to higher smog levels. More smog means more childhood asthma attacks and complications for others with lung disease.

That’s why the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing carbon pollution standards for power plants – and they’re seeking public comments before deciding to take action.

According to a recent bipartisan survey conducted for the American Lung Association, the voting public strongly supports the EPA’s efforts to update clean air protections.  An astounding 72-percent of voters surveyed want the EPA to set limits on power plant carbon pollution.

These new clean air standards will improve the quality of our air and spark innovation in clean energy technologies. But big polluters are working to block EPA scientists from setting these new standards.
