Thirty years after the discovery of the disease in Lyme Connecticut we still do not understand the pathogenesis of this disease primarily in part due to a handful of researchers with useless studies like the one Wormser is conducting for his own hidden agenda.  SUBJECTIVE SYMPTOMS AFTER TREATMENT OF LYME DISEASE  We need to advance our understanding of Lyme disease and fund research to determine why tens of thousands of Lyme patients remain ill after treatment many of which experience a level of physical disability equivalent to that seen in congestive heart failure; certainly not the "aches and pains of daily living" as the Wormser study would have you believe. Results from a study conducted by a researcher with a bias against persistent infection usually produce research that supports their biases. Stop wasting taxpayer’s money funding any Lyme study that doesn’t focus on understanding the disease process and creating effective treatment for persistent infection.
Too many patients are being denied treatment because persistent infection is not recognized. We now have proof that chronic Lyme exists through Advanced Laboratory Services’s Borrellia culture test. The laboratory is reporting positive cultures in 80% of symptomatic post treatment Lyme patient specimens. These results have come after hundreds of tests.

Stop wasting taxpayer’s money on useless Lyme disease studies

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
