As a person of faith who happens to be Muslim I am very concerned and ashamed that some Americans have not learned from history. We went through a terrible time from slavery through the early 70's due to bigotry and poor race relations. We can't go backwards.

The entire Islamic community is being blamed for what a handful of people have done. This is not fair nor just. This type of thinking only leads to more violence and more division among people who should be united around our core values of justice and religious freedom as a nation.  

If we allow ourselves to make the Islamic community or any segment of it the new bad guys we are harming ourselves and making everything said by a few against America correct.

Let's stop it now before it builds and people are hurt or murdered.

I suggest that Muslims show all the love we can towards non-Muslims who show hatred towards us. Meet those who come to our places of worship with dogs and nasty signs with love. Invite them in (leave the dogs out) and even offer to feed them. Show them that our way of life (more than an ideology) is a way of peace and love. 

Stop all forms of Islamophobia in America today!
