To alleviate overcrowding at Polo Ridge Elementary School, Principal Riska is attempting to move two first-grade classes into the music room. The combined class would consist of 47 students and two teachers. The music program would move from its dedicated room to a cart. As an alternative, Principal Riska could move one class into the music room and one class into the art room. The music and art programs would both move from their dedicated rooms to a cart. Given the available alternatives, we strongly believe that a combined class of 47 students is unacceptable. We're asking Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to prevent Principal Riska from combining these classes.
