I live in CA and although I am a cannabis patient, I am still forced to pass an initial drug screening for many places of employment.  Even those with no 'saftey issues'!   Although CA does prevent the firing of a cannabis patient for being one, there is still the huge difficulty for those unemployed who would have to give up their medicine for about a month at the very least in order to have the same chance of obtaining employment as a non-medicinal cannabis patient.  I believe this is discrimination!  If an employer has a problem with my work and or work ethic then that is fine, but they have no right to make assumptions based on a pre-screening drug test!
