Stop Using Toxic Chemicals to Clean Oil Spills

Stop Using Toxic Chemicals to Clean Oil Spills
The Issue
We, the undersigned, request you start to use microbes and other natural means to clean up not only the BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill but all oil spills, instead of the deadly and toxic chemicals that are being used. We have seen videos and have proof that the oil does not need to be broken down in order for these microbes to work, and know that other countries have successfully used said microbes to clean up oil spills. Considering this alternative method,it is inappropriate you have chosen to use the same chemicals that have killed many of the workers involved in the Exxon oil spill clean up, and are killing thousands of ocean animals everyday. The pictures of dolphins with blood seeping out of their blow holes and eyes should be proof enough that this is a deadly chemical that is hostile to mammalian life. There have also been reports of the fishermen in the Gulf bleeding from their rectumes, we should not be endangerind lifes and the planet when there are natural means to clean the oil. As rainfall comes via evaporation, directly from the ocean, and then rains on the crops humans will be eating, we can only assume the effects of the chemicals will be the same on people. Therefore, as there are natural and less toxic methods to clean up the BP oil spill, we strongly urge you to use them instead of a chemical that has unknown effects on the environment and was proven by the Exxon oil spill to be deadly. There have been whales pictured found 77 miles away from the oil spill, and died due to the chemicals that are being used at the spill site. As leaders you have to consider what is safe and best for the planet for the planets health directly affects us. The microbe was featured on Fox 7 News and worked without chemical breakdown of the oil, we know that it would work. Please do your jobs that we pay you to do and protect the planet from toxic chemicals.
We require you to consider these points before you make your decision. Thank you for your time, and do the right thing.
