Stop unsustainable sand mining on the Western Area Peninsula, Sierra Leone

The Issue

We think that destroying Sierra Leone's best beaches for short-term gain is a mistake. Here we're planning to save Salone's beaches.

Unlawful and unsustainable sand mining is destroying one of Sierra Leone's prize assets - her beaches. Future plans for a sustainable tourism strategy, local ecosystems and future livelihoods are being lost. Whichever way you look at it, it makes no sense.

We believe there is a better way to make use of Sierra Leone's beaches on the Western Peninsula for those that live there - protect them.
