STOP TURTLE CRUSHING IN NORTH CAROLINA

The Issue

Turtles are trying to get from one pond to another across W. Manchester by Ft. Bragg.  They are getting crushed by cars that are driving too fast along this stretch of road, not bothering or unable to stop for the turtles.

If the signs are there, it will show that the government values the lives of the turtles; it alerts the caring public to the fact that turtles may be crossing so they should slow down; it will alert other drivers that cars may slow down in the area or even stop or swerve.

In other words, it becomes a safer area for drivers and riders, as well as turtles.

Please sign my petition asking NC Department of Transportation to put up signs.
