A church in Gainsville, Fl is planning a Quran-burning event on the anniversary of 9/11.

This is discrimination, it's racism, and it's intended as a hateful attack on a group of people based on their religious and cultural identity. This church is planning a hate crime that should be stopped.

Facebook can do its part to help put the fires out before they start by working to have this hateful event taken down from the site.

The political leadership, including the Governor, of Florida should have the courage to step up and denounce this hateful event.

Stop the Quran Burning in Gainsville!

Dear Governor:

A church in Gainsville, Fl is planning a Quran-burning event on the anniversary of 9/11.

This is discrimination, it's racism, and it's intended as a hateful attack on a group of people based on their religious and cultural identity. This church is planning a hate crime that should be stopped.

I ask that you work to make sure that this event does not take place. It's not only an embarrassment to the state of Florida and but an attack on its citizens of Islamic faith and heritage. To that end, I ask that you work to secure a formal apology from the church leaders who are organizing this hateful event.

Pledge to not only stop the event, but to promote intercultural exchange, mutual respect, and safety for all the citizens of your state, regardless of their religion.
