Shale beach is a drive-on, drive-off gem on the shores of Georgian Bay. The beach is accessible, beautiful and incredibly convenient. Shale beach has been a mainstay to thousands of people along the HWY 26 corridor for decades. On or about June 12, 2013 a sign appeared on the access to the beach from HWY 26 indicating the beach would be closed without public consultation or explanation. We, the undersigned, simply want to know why the beach is being closed and to have input into the process that leads to its future. Pending that process, we request the beach remain open.
