Because I am on the spectrum myself, and I don't want anyone to fall through the cracks and not get the help they need!! And this change would do just that. Making it a broad diagnosis would hinder, not help, individuals that are on the spectrum who may still have not received an official diagnosis. The APA is attempting to cut out especially the definitions of Aspergers Syndrome and PDD (Pervasive Development Disorder) from the next DSM manual, and that will shut out those who are on the spectrum that have these disorders. Let's stand up against the APA and put a stop to this!!! Thank you. :)
