Please do not contact the shelters regarding this situation. Phone calls to the shelters HAVE to be reserved for rescue of these animals. This issue needs to be resolved at a higher level. It's very important to understand this.

Gratiot County Animal Control in Michigan sells shelter dogs and cats to class B dealers (“Pound Seizure”) for cruel animal experiments. 

Pound seizure is the practice of selling or releasing of shelter animals to animal brokers known as Class B Dealers or to research facilities for experimentation or education. These animals may be used as expendable “tools” in lethal laboratory experiments or educational purposes (e.g., dissections).

Please sign and share this petition, particularly if you are in Michigan. Signatures from Michigan residents are the most relevant. Please spread the word to all your friends in Michigan.

Stop Selling Animals for Experiments in Michigan

Gratiot County Animal Control in Michigan sells shelter dogs and cats to class B dealers (“Pound Seizure”) for cruel animal experiments.

Pound seizure is the practice of selling or releasing of shelter animals to animal brokers known as Class B Dealers or to research facilities for experimentation or education. These animals may be used as expendable “tools” in lethal laboratory experiments or educational purposes (e.g., dissections).

Mecosta County Animal Control has made the decision to stop this cruel practice. It's time for Gratiot to follow their lead.

Please put an end to these cruel and unnecessary practices of destroying homeless animals NOW.
