Stop letting Monsanto run the USDA

Dear President Obama,

The USDA has just approved Monsanto's Roundup Ready genetically engineered sugar beets right after approving GE alfalfa. It's time to get the USDA under control, and stop pushing Monsanto and corporate agribusiness' agenda in these decisions.

The USDA openly defied a court ruling prohibiting the planting of GE sugar beets. This is the wrong decision and will likely lead to the contamination of other crops. Now farmers, the environment and consumers will all suffer with biotechnology’s increasing stranglehold over the food system.

You have the power to stop this. I urge you to stop allowing corporate agribusiness to call the shots in your administration.

Please take immediate action to stop the approvals of GE alfalfa and sugar beets.
