The Tres Rios Bureau of Land Management is being sneaky by not having proper public comment and by not having a completed Environmental Impact Statement. The BLM has made no effort to reach out to our community to discuss this proposal, or to solicit input from those of us who will be affected if this proposal is approved.
Among the issues of primary concern, and that need to be analyzed, are air quality impacts, road impacts, water impacts, and the health and public safety threat that hydraulic fracturing (fracking) poses to our families. At this time, all these are unknowns and there is no reason that they should be unknowns. These are issues that need to be dealt with NOW, not later.
