One incident of bullying in school is one too many. Unfortunately Minnesota schools have much more than that. It happens in every Minnesota School district, even though there are laws that are supposed to protect victims of bullying. But due to lack of enforcement and effectiveness the current rules, a new strategy must be implemented.

Hello,
We are asking for your help to implement a new policy to help students who are bullied at school.
Many students are bullied each and everyday at schools. Chances are, if someone isn't being bullied, they see some type of bullying happening. Students who are bullied feel emotionally drained, and are more likely to have trouble at school. Thirty-nine percent of middle schoolers and thirty-six of high schoolers say they don’t feel safe at schools (2000 Report Card: Report #1, The Ethics of American Youth: Violence and Substance Abuse: Data & Commentary, Josephson Institute of Ethics, 2001). Obviously, this is a issue that nees to be solved. The current bullying policies that are placed in schools are ineffective and outdated.
Our policy will make sure that teachers and staff receive training on how to understand the impact bullying has on children, and how to respond to when they see bullying taking place. This is a serious issue, since more recently more students are comitting suicide from such affects of bullying. Such evidence shows that students who are bullied have fear and anxiety that can make it difficult for the child to focus and engage in the classroom, making learning that much more difficult (According to mychildsafety.com). This is why it is important to raise awareness, about a future policy that could changes children's lives forever.
