Experts for world food hit alarm. By agrospirit, dryness and harvest failures the food prices explode in the agricultural commodities markets. Maize and grain have gone up since June about 50 percent. Also in Germany the grain prices have already risen by 25 to 35 percent compared with the year before.

UN already warns about a worldwide hunger disaster. The world grain stocks reach currently for only 69 days. For many years more grain is used than is produced. FAO general manager Graziano there Silva asks the USA to stop the production of Ethanol fuel from maize. More than 40 percent of the maize harvest of the country already go to the agrospirit production. In Germany the maize goes to one third to fermentation gas arrangements.

Now your developing minister Dirk Niebel has also demanded a sales masthead for E10 fuel in Germany. He sees the conflict between tank and plate and demands that in view of the dryness and the hunger situation in the world the food of the people is urgent.

Two weeks ago the German academy of the sciences has Leopoldina her extensive study "bioenergy: Possibilities and borders" presented. Involved more than twenty researchers come to an unequivocal result: „Bioenergy can make as a lasting energy source for Germany today and in future no quantitatively important contribution to the energy turn".

Bioenergy is also injurious to the nature and the climate. The industrial monocultures spread out worldwide at the expenses of the natural ecosystems and destroy the biodiversity. In Brazil, the rain forests and savannas burn for the production of Ethanol from sugarcane or biodiesel from soy. In Indonesia and Malaysia it is cleared for biodiesel of palm oil. Huge amounts CO2 are released, vast amounts are wasted in water. Fertilizers and pesticides load the environment.

The researchers ask the Federal Government to correct the energy policy of the EU. It is high time to leave the fatal wandering path with the agrarian spirit and the so-called bioenergy:

- Stop E10, biodiesel and the admixture duty of agrospirit
- Finish the support of agrospirit, fermentation gas and biomass
- Forbid all imports of agrospirit and biomass.
