Our local paper the Knoxville News Sentinel allows people to post comments anonymously on their web site.

The rhetoric can becomes very volatile.

On Sunday, February 13, Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church sponsored “Spiritual Approaches to Polarized Politics,” a public interfaith forum as part of its Valentine observance of national Standing on the Side of Love Day.

This issue was brought out in many of the discussion groups.

Since our church was the target of the July 27th, 2008 shooting & recently in Arizona shooting of  Rep Gabrielle Gifford we feel very strongerly about the power of hateful words!

I was at the shooting at my church with my son, daughter-in-law, and my grandchildren. Thus the importance of this issue to me personally.
