Every year well over 60 billion animals are unwillingly used, exploited, and killed for monetary gain by humans. Animals are killed for food, for fashion, and to be used in various products. Annually, 100 million animals die due to experimentation and testing for new commercial products or scientific study.

Many more are subjected to cruelty, abuse, and persecution through their involvement in various forms of 'entertainment.'

Animals that find their way into such harmful trades are either bred for it or are caught directly from the wild. Harvesting animals from the wild contributes to the decline in their natural populations. This threatens endangered species.

Adopting a vegan lifestyle is one of the best things people can do to help animals of all kinds.

Vegaism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals and animal products for food, clothing, or any other purpose. It also excludes the use of any products that are tested on animals. Vegans therefore do not support any trades or industries that inflict pain or suffering upon animals.

The following links provide information on making the transition to veganism easier.

The below link has information on what products do and do not test on animals. Natural food stores also usually carry a wide variety of vegan household products.
