Plymouth University have declared that they have resumed experimentation on live animals, the tests that are being carried out involve invasive and painful experiments and include GM manipulation and breeding of animals. Details released so far state that mice are being used in painful experiments where their sciatic nerve tissue is damaged. Other species of animals are also being used but the information has not been released yet regarding the full details of the experiments. We the undersigned object to the use of live animals for experimentation and urge the university of Plymouth to switch to more modern, reliable and ethical alternatives which do not involve the use of animals.

Stop Animal Experimentation at the University of Plymouth

Dear sir/madam,

It has come to my attention that the University of Plymouth has begun to experiment on animals again. I would like to voice my objection to this vile and archaic practise and to point out that it has no place in modern universities especially as the techniques that the new generation of scientists and doctors will be using will be advanced technologies, computer programmes and techniques that are far more reliable and ethical than animal experimentation. Animal experimentation is fraudulent, unreliable and cruel and has no place in any civilised teaching institution. Many other institutions around the world have now ceased to use any live animals and have switched to more modern and ethical methods of teaching.

I urge you to cease these barbaric and unnecessary experiments and instead adopt modern technologies as promoted by institutions and organisations such as:

To imprison animals and deny them their freedom to express natural instincts and to deliberately inflict physical pain in the name of science is unacceptable and needs to stop.
