A bill has been recently introduced by a Oklahoma legislator that allows owners of pets to dispose of their animals by shooting them. State Representive Steve Martin sponsored the bill. Representive Martin believes that the new measures in HB 2613 are an effective solution for "euthanasia" practices that are already in place. This bill would also seek to reduce the penalties for a number of animal cruelty crimes.

Whether or not you are an "animal person", I think anyone can agree this is MURDER!! Plain and simple. I love animals and believe we have a responsibility to speak up for them and be their voice because they can't. The animals do not have a say in this, they don't get to have a vote!! We, as human beings have a responsibility to protect animals and have their best interest at heart. They are God's creations and deserve respect and dignity, just like the rest of God's creatures!! 

I started this petition because I have simply had enough of Animal Abuse and neglect. However, this is much more than that. This is an unspeakable, horrific act that I cannot believe can even attempt to be introduced as a bill!  I am an Advocate for Animals and know people can be capable of some horrific things where animals are concerned. I see and hear this every day, but this is something entirely different!!! 

I believe if enough people sign and share this petition, we can stop this before it even happens!! I, personally have never been to Oklahoma and certainly have no desire to go there now. Not to mention what this will do to their Tourism Industry.  Please, help me put a stop to what Represantive Martin is trying to do...if every person who loves animals signs this, I know we can!!!
