Statement of Community Opposition to the Granting of a Charter for The Red Hook Charter School
The Issue
There are currently three elementary schools in the 1.1 square miles of Red Hook. P.S. 15, located in Red Hook, Brooklyn earned an A rating four years in a row. P.S. 15 is rated second in achievement in District 15 and has been identified by the Department of Education as being under-enrolled. Our community does not need another school - we need support for our existing high quality schools.
