Stop Deaths at Dog Daycares

Stop Deaths at Dog Daycares
The Issue
I trusted my dog, my best friend to a locally owned dog daycare and when I came to pick her up, she was dead. The exact circumstances of her death are unclear. My poodle was bitten by another dog who they have told me will “absolutely” be allowed to continue to go to daycare. The animal emergency clinic recorded that the manager of My Three Dogs called saying that she was “freaking out.” How is it that a dog daycare is not trained for these circumstances? Even more upsetting are the dozens of people who have contacted me with stories similar to this that have resulted in injury. The daycare has three dog daycares in the Charleston area and none of them require their staff to be pet CPR/First Aide trained. If there are no regulations for being a doggie daycare, how do we know if they are safe? That is why I have started a petition to require them to train their staff so that no dog in their care can ever not have all the help they deserve. I never want anyone to have to have their dog handed to them in a parking lot wrapped in a towel dead. As many good years as I had with Mouf, my poodle, that one memory of her head rolling back as they thrust her at me will never leave me. No one should have to go through what I have.
