HB 195 is a knee-jerk reaction to false media claims, and will put thousands of Ohioans out of a job. The sweepstakes industry wants sensible regulation and a set of best practices for all operators to live by, but HB 195 does not allow that opportunity. Please vote no on HB 195. Many businesses employ the use of sweepstakes as a promotion to its customers for the purchase of a retail product. Companies give free sweepstakes entries/points to customers with the purchase of their retail product. These businesses come from many different industries, food service, banks, auto dealerships, etc. Sweepstakes are common practice and we feel HB 195 is prejudicial to the Sweepstakes industry.
