Stand Up for Veterans - They Stood Up for Us

The Issue

Better body armor and equipment plus advances in battlefield medicine are helping more troops survive. But many return home to their families to face a long recovery from serious wounds, including traumatic brain injuries and other disabilities that require many years of physical or cognitive therapy.

Thousands of spouses, parents, or other family members are thrust into the role of caregiver, and provide most of a wounded warrior's daily care. They often must sacrifice their own jobs or put their life on hold to be caregiver for a veteran who may need lifelong support.

It's not just an act of love, it's also a sacrifice for our country.

The families of all veterans must be treated fairly, whether their child or spouse served in the Gulf War, the War on Terror, or any other war. Please take action to urge your elected leaders to support legislation to provide equal caregiver benefits to all families of seriously disabled veterans.
