Recently the U.S. Senate released its first draft of the most comprehensive climate change legislation that Congress has ever seen. The Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act expands and improves upon the clean energy and climate bill recently passed in the House of Representatives. Some of the Senate bill's key improvements include:

* Increased protection of the EPA's power to regulate carbon pollution.
