Soom Rosette School of Dolls: Offer the waist joint on the Rosette Girl/Lady 47cm body

Soom Rosette School of Dolls: Offer the waist joint on the Rosette Girl/Lady 47cm body

The Issue

The Rosette 47cm body is a master of posability. With double jointed elbows and knees, notched sockets for shoulders and thighs, and exquisite quality resin, these long, elegant bodies naturally take to many sophisticated, and characterizing poses. However, without warning or notice, Soom has discontinued the waist joint that added so much to their posing abilities.

Removing joints is usually a sign of cutting production time and cost, yet the dolls remain the same price and the production times seem to become longer and longer. Soom's spokesperson has stated that the joint was removed by the request of customers, but so far everyone on Den of Angels, the largest English-speaking BJD community on the net, has been bewildered and dismayed by this choice.

If Soom insists on removing the waist joint for aesthetic reasons, the price of the dolls should be lowered accordingly. Soom must make an announcement on the Rosette School of Dolls Web site and to their customers who have unwittingly purchased Rosettes recently without this joint. Soom could also offer a "Beauty" option without the waist joint and an alternative "Active" option with the waist joint, similarly to Fairyland's Minifee options.

As a long time Soom fan, and multiple Soom owner, I am shocked at this lack of foresight that Soom has shown in removing such a crucial part of the Rosette jointing structure without notice.
