Horses are companion animals and gentle herbivores, who have assisted mankind for over 4,000 years in travel, agriculture, the military, even the taming of the West . We cannot be outraged by cultures who allow consumption of companion animals such as dogs and cats, if the United States of America is going to promote and allow the consumption of our companion horses.
Horse slaughterhouses in other countries like Mexico and Canada, have demonstrated,by their nature, horses do not go stoically or easily into slaughter - they fight for their lives.   In addition, a STOP has to be put to the transport of American horses to neighboring countries for slaughter!  This can't be a 'half' effort, our horses will die in slaughterhouses in Mexico and Canada if we do not close that gap as well! 
Do not allow House bill 2112 to go forward (allowing the slaughter and consumption of horses in the U.S.).
This bill was spawned by greed, money, politics, and people who actually enjoy power over the life and death of defenseless animals.
President Obama, you made a campaign promise to PERMANENTLY BAN the slaughter and consumption of horses in America. What happened? We counted on you to keep your promise to protect our iconic horses.
Pro-horse-slaughterer, and lawmaker Sue Wallis of Wyoming predicts easily 200,000 horses per year will be killed.
THIS IS NO WAY TO CREATE JOBS! Killing and eating horses is immoral, indecent, unacceptable, and flatout UN-AMERICAN !!
