Mother's cusotdy rights

Dear Representative,

I am writing on behalf of all of the silent minority of mother's who once stayed at home, or took a low paying part-time job to spend more time with their children while married.  It is hard to believe that a mother would have her 9 month old children stripped from her simply because she must work and therefore place her children in child care, but that is the thing that tipped the scale in the Judge's decision in my case.  The father of my twins, who barely has spent any time with them, had the money for the lawyer, while I can barely find a decent paying job.  We need to have equal respresentation in Court.  Children should not be placed with one parent over the other simply based on the fact that one must use daycare while the other can have a spouse look after the kids in home care.  We can not have children taken from their mother because the father earns more and can afford an attorney while not paying any child support.  Please help support not just mothers, but all parents rights to be represented in Court with a court appointed attorney like those in criminal proceedings.  Otherwise, "the best interest of the child" goes to the one with the most money, not the best enviorment.
