SILVER SLIPPER REPORT NEEDED TO KEEP JOBS IN THE USA!

We all agree we are in an economic crisis here in the USA.  What we don’t agree upon is how to fix it – the problems are monumental from the financial industry to the automobile industry not to mention the housing industry.  What we can agree upon is the unemployment rate in the US is way too high.  Our neighbors are not employed or they are underemployed.  Wal-Mart has announced in an attempt to be a good citizen is launching a Sustainability Program that encourages its vendors to find environmentally friendly solutions/products.  What we need is jobs. 

In the book the Wonderful Wizard of the Oz, the magic shoes Dorothy wore were silver and she had the power with her all the time to return home.  This report of who we are employing and where could be labeled the Silver Slipper Report and record on every website under SSReport.

My proposal is a report from Wal-Mart and every corporation receiving federal funding of how many full time equivalent positions they are employing here in the US, continental North America (meaning our neighbors Mexico and Canada) and overseas.  This report would be for paycheck jobs only.  If services are contracted out – nothing is reported.

For example, 123Corporation 3 year comparison report might look like this:

Our forefathers gave us a representative government, we have the voting power to write to our government officials and ask for what we want.  Let’s put on our silver slippers and create a working America where are neighbors are gainfully employed, where our grandchildren can grow up and be proud, where our great grandchildren can look back and see our hard efforts.  Write to your representative today – this is our democracy.

Dear Representative

We need jobs for ourselve, our neighbors, our grandchildren and our great grandchildren. Let's ask those corporations who are receiving governmental funding to report what they are doing about employing our citizens.

This simple report would be called the Silver Slipper report and would do nothing more than record how many employees they have here in the US, in North America and overseas. Not contract employees. We need to see the trend and hopefully see the attempt to hire more employees, retain more American jobs.

We want to send a strong message to corporate America, we are willing to pay higher prices to have our grandchildren employed here in the United States. We want corporate executives to explain why communication centers are shipped overseas. We want the decision makers to think twice about how and where they spend their money.

Let's put America to Work - Let's Ask for Accountability - Let's Ask for a Simple Report - the Silver Slipper Report to be published annually.
