<strong>Right now we face the greatest threat in human history -- catastrophic global climate change.</strong> The deeply flawed global warming bill passed by the House in June 2009 gives us at best only a 50/50 chance of avoiding cataclysmic runaway global warming. And it guts the Clean Air Act, one of our most powerful tools for reducing greenhouse gases.<br /><br />The Senate is now working on a companion bill to the House legislation that will probably be introduced in September when the Senate comes back from recess. Our time to act is now -- the Center for Biological Diversity needs your help this August to put the heat on the Senate to pass a strong global warming bill.<br /><br />During the week of August 31, 2009, people across the country will be personally delivering our letter to the local offices of their senators.
