Iloilo City residents, Suceava County, have had a shocking experience. They have witnessed the wholesale slaughter of stray dogs that were killed on the streets and let Zaccai, without mercy.

Dozens of dogs were poisoned and left to die in agony on the streets, the last week. For now, nobody knows who is responsible for these crimes. Photos that depict the harrowing scenes were made public by a resident of Iloilo City and posted on Sunday, the protv.ro.

"It is impossible, in the XXI century, these odious measures to be taken against the poor animal, whose only fault is to be born to stray," said Sucevean who made pictures.

Dear Sir,
 
 I was most saddened and distressed to read in the newspaper Ziua about the hideous poisoning of stray animals in your city.

 I would strongly urge you to stop this shameful killing of defenceless,innocent, homeless animals in your city,and punish those responsible.

 You are part of the EU which has  strong laws of animal protection, and to which all EU members are expected to conform. The mentality of brutally killing any animals which are regarded as a "nuisance", is simply out of step with modern, progressive thinking.
 
 Please build proper shelters with the required EU standards of spay/neuter and release."
