Shelter dogs are suffering from the heat

The Issue

Lake Havasu, Arizona is one of the hottest places in the nation with 120 degrees high. Yet the humane society board to date refuses to install air conditoning in the dog kennel areas even though most of the cost would be donated. The evaporative coolers are not efficient when the temperature and humidity are high. During these humid months evaporative coolers and misters are adding hot steam in the air which makes it even more uncomfortable for the animals. A shelter environment is stressful for animals, they don't need to also be penalized by being caged in hot kennels. If Phoenix and Tucson shelters have air conditoning, Lake Havasu should be able to have air conditioning too.
