Do Not Limit Students' Success and Access

The Issue

Some Student Success Task Force Recommendations Will Hurt Students!!!

Student Success Task Force (SSTF) is a bill recommended to the California's government to target students' success process. Despite SSTF name, which suggests that it favors community college students' success, it seriously undermines the opportunities for success for many students. SSTF will take the BOG (Board of Governor) benefits away from highly motivated and enthusiastic students after certain amount of units. Recent changes have already limited the Pell Grant from 9 full-time years to 6 full-time years. Moreover, students will lose their priority registration regardless of their initial English and Math placement level or major/goal after a certain amount of time. Some  SSTF recomendations will not be in favor of community colleges or their students.
